Vom 26. bis 27. Juni 2017 fand die internationale Konferenz "New Challenges and Options for the Union's Treaty Making Powers: Common Commercial Policy, Eastern Partnership, Leave-the-Union and Mixity" statt.

Die Konferenz wurde von der Jura Fakultät der Universität Augsburg und dem Institut für Deutsches Recht / Nationale Universität Kiew Mohyla Akademie in Zusammenarbeit mit führenden Wissenschaftlern auf dem Gebiet aus Deutschland, Belgien, Norwegen, USA, Österreich, Polen, Ukraine, Georgien, Frankreich und Repräsentanten von EU-Institutionen abgehalten.

Während der Konferenz wurden aktuelle Entwicklungen auf dem Gebiet des EU Rechts und internationaler Verträge sowie aktuelle Fragen zur Umsetzung des Assoziierungsabkommens zwischen der EU und der Ukraine, Georgien und Moldova vorgestellt.

An der Diskussion nahm der Generalkonsul der Ukraine in München, Herr Dmitry Shevchenko, teil. Nach dem Ende der Konferenz wurde das Buch "Recht und Realität" (Verlagshaus Nomos Verlag) vorgestellt, das eine Zusammenfassung gesammelter wissenschaftlicher Arbeiten zu oben genannten Themen enthält. Es wurde anlässlich des 70. Geburtstags von Prof. Christoph Vedder, Prof. an der Universität Augsburg und Mitglied des Aufsichtsrats des Instituts für Deutsches Recht / Nationale Universität Kiew Mohyla Akademie vorgestellt. Aufgrund des  Erfolgs der internationalen Konferenz ist eine Veröffentlichung der wissenschaftlichen und auf der Konferenz vorgestellten Sammlungen beim Springer Verlag geplant.
